Identify the Real Owners Behind Any Company
UBO data and ownership records for 600M+ companies worldwide — shareholders, corporate linkage and group structure, sourced directly from official government registries.
How this directory works
Every entity here is a live registry record, not a scraped profile. Zavia connects directly to 400+ official government registries across 195 countries and territories and resolves ownership from the filings themselves — shareholders, officers, and the chain of parents above them. If a company you need is not yet in the directory, we pull the record from its home register and build its page automatically, in seconds.
Top Companies from every jurisdiction
A live sample across jurisdictions, pulled straight from the register. Every row opens the full record — officers, shareholders and resolved group structure.
Data Coverage
Record counts by data layer across every jurisdiction Zavia tracks, as of the last reconciliation.
Analysis
What this data actually tells you
No single government register shows ownership across borders — each jurisdiction in this directory only sees what was filed inside its own system. A shareholder based abroad, a parent incorporated in a different register, a nominee director standing in for someone else: none of that resolves from one country’s filings alone. Screening a counterparty against its home register tells you it exists and who signed for it locally. It does not tell you who actually stands behind it.
That is the gap this directory is built to close. Every entity here keeps its original registry filing intact — officers, shareholders, identifiers — and is then linked forward to its resolved parent, wherever that parent is incorporated. The largest registers by entity count anchor most of that chain-building, because most cross-border ownership eventually resolves up into one of them. A screening process that stops at the local filing will miss exactly the layer this data is meant to surface.
The global company base, broken down
Charts render from live counts. Where coverage is partial, the excluded population is stated on the chart.
Companies by top jurisdiction
Top 8 jurisdictions by entity count. Each bar links through to its own country directory above.
Part of a group vs. standalone
Measured against companies already indexed here, not the full 600M+ — a floor, not a global ceiling.
Financial reports on file
Most companies file with a confidentiality option or aren’t required to publish accounts, so group membership is often the more reliable solvency signal.
Top legal forms
Most common legal forms among indexed companies. Naming varies by jurisdiction — a GmbH, a Ltd. and an SAS aren’t the same instrument.
Registries connected, by region
Countries and territories with a connected registry, grouped by region.
Who uses global ownership data
The three checks this directory’s data is most often run for.
KYB onboarding
Verifying a counterparty in a jurisdiction you don’t operate in usually means reading a register you’ve never seen before. Zavia normalizes officer, shareholder and UBO fields to one schema across every jurisdiction. See the UBO resolution fields.
AML and sanctions screening
Sanctions exposure rarely sits in the entity you’re screening — it sits in a parent one, two or three jurisdictions above it. Screening the local filing alone misses that layer; screening the resolved chain surfaces it.
Supply-chain and credit risk
A vendor’s standalone filing in its home register rarely tells you whether it is backed by a larger group. Resolved parent data is often a better solvency signal than a single-entity balance sheet. Bulk feed for portfolio-wide runs.

Zavia connects directly to 400+ official government registries across 195 countries and territories, from the largest company registers (United States, France, Brazil) down to smaller offshore and island registries.
How do I find out who owns a business?
Start with the company’s home registry filing for its legal owners, then resolve upward for anyone controlling it indirectly through a holding structure. See How to Find Out Who Owns a Business: 6 Ways That Actually Work, or search any entity above and open its record for the resolved ownership chain directly.
How do I look up who owns an LLC?
LLC ownership sits in state-level formation records rather than a single national register, and member details aren’t always public. How to Find Out Who Owns an LLC covers the state-by-state lookup process and what changed after the CTA reversal.
How many company records does Zavia track worldwide?
600M+ company records worldwide, with 14.5M+ shareholder records and 40.2M+ resolved UBO and corporate-linkage relationships on top.
What happens if a company isn’t in the directory yet?

Is there a bulk or API option for global company data?
Yes. Zavia’s API connects directly to official government ownership registries across 195 countries and territories, so registration, shareholder, UBO, officer and group-structure records can be queried programmatically instead of browsed one page at a time. Bulk extracts are available as a data feed.
