SAKSKØBING KOMMUNE was a Danish municipality (kommune) — a statutory public authority, not a trading company. It is carried in Denmark under CVR number 61168419, and the record published here gives its status as Inactive; a register entry does not indicate that the authority operates. Under lov om Det Centrale Virksomhedsregister a kommune is a registrable legal unit, so holding a CVR number does not make an entity a company. The municipality was constituted with effect from 1 April 1970 by Bekendtgørelse nr. 62 af 27. februar 1970, covering the Sakskøbing district of the former Maribo amt — Sakskøbing town and landsogn, Majbølle, Radsted, Slemminge-Fjelde, Tårs, Vigsnæs and Våbensted-Engestofte — within Storstrøms Amtskommune. Rigsarkivet’s archive records show it administered population registration, building control, hospital provision, youth work and adult education. It was abolished on 1 January 2007 under the local government reform, its council’s term having run to 31 December 2006. Rigsarkivet dates the authority 1970–2006. The registered locality was Sakskøbing, postcode 4990.

Shareholders

Shareholders of SAKSKØBING KOMMUNE

SAKSKØBING KOMMUNE had no shareholders, because it had no share capital and no shares to hold. It was not a company but a Danish municipality — a public authority brought into being by ministerial order under the inddelingslov, not by incorporation, subscription or any act of an owner. There is no shareholder register for it anywhere, and none was ever capable of existing.

The 25% disclosure threshold used for corporate ownership has no application to an entity of this kind. A municipality’s constitutional position is set by Grundloven (lov nr. 169 af 5. juni 1953) § 82, under which the right of municipalities to manage their own affairs independently, under the supervision of the state, is regulated by statute. That is supervision, not ownership: the Danish state did not and could not hold an equity interest in SAKSKØBING KOMMUNE.

The entity holds a CVR number, but this does not imply shareholding. Under lov om Det Centrale Virksomhedsregister (LBK nr. 246 af 05/02/2026) § 3, the legal units recorded in CVR expressly include, at nr. 6, “En kommune” — a municipality. Under § 5 stk. 3 the CVR numbers of state administrative units, regions and municipalities are assigned by Danmarks Statistik rather than by Erhvervsstyrelsen. CVR is therefore a register of legal units, not a register of companies.

Data availability

Full. The ownership position is completely determined and nothing is outstanding: a Danish municipality has no owners, and that conclusion follows from the statutes that constituted and governed it rather than from any filing. This label does not mean that a shareholder list was obtained — no such list was sought, because none exists. The alternatives would each be misleading: Not found, Not public and Restricted would all imply that shareholder data exists somewhere and was merely unobtainable, which is false for this category of entity.

Separately, Denmark’s company register could not be read directly during this research. datacvr.virk.dk returned HTTP 403 with a bot-protection challenge on every path attempted, and distribution.virk.dk requires Erhvervsstyrelsen system-to-system credentials. That access failure is recorded here for completeness; it is not the basis of the Full classification above, which rests on statute.

Officers

Directors and officers of SAKSKØBING KOMMUNE

SAKSKØBING KOMMUNE had no directors or company officers. As a Danish municipality it was governed by a kommunalbestyrelse (municipal council), whose members were elected representatives, not appointed managers, and who should not be described as directors. Under lov om kommunernes styrelse (LBK nr. 13 af 05/01/2026) § 2 stk. 1, the affairs of municipalities are governed by municipal councils elected under the local and regional elections act.

The council’s chair held the statutory title borgmester (mayor): § 3 stk. 3 provides that “Kommunalbestyrelsens formand betegnes borgmester”. Under § 31 stk. 3 that chair had the supreme day-to-day direction of the municipal administration — the nearest functional analogue to an executive role, though it arose from election and statute rather than from any appointment by owners. Many Danish municipal councils are styled byråd (town council) in their own styrelsesvedtægt, the standing orders each council adopts under § 2 stk. 2.

No individual is named here. No official record naming a holder of the office of borgmester or a member of the kommunalbestyrelse in their official capacity was obtained during this research, and for an authority abolished at the end of 2006 no person could in any event be a current officer.

Recent officer changes

None are possible, and none have been possible since 2006. Under lov om revision af den kommunale inddeling (LOV nr. 540 af 24/06/2005) § 52, no election to the municipal councils of amalgamating municipalities was held at the ordinary local elections of 15 November 2005, and the term of office of those councils was extended by one year, running to 31 December 2006. The office of borgmester of SAKSKØBING KOMMUNE therefore ceased with the authority itself on 1 January 2007. Under § 37 of the same act, municipal established officers transferred into the employment of the new municipality on that date.

Data availability

Historical. The officer category genuinely applies to this entity — a kommunalbestyrelse and a borgmester did exist, and the archival record confirms the council and committee machinery operated — but everything that could exist is pre-2007 and nothing is current. Current only would be wrong, since there is nothing current; Not found and Not public would wrongly suggest that a present-day officer list is being withheld rather than that the office was abolished.

Rigsarkivet’s authority records confirm the existence of the governing and committee bodies over the authority’s life, dating Sakskøbing Kommune to 1970–2006, with sub-authority records including Sygehusudvalg (hospital committee, 1970–2006), Folkeregister (population register, 1970–1978), Bygningskommission (building commission, 1970–1978), Fritidsnævn (leisure board, 1970–1990), Ungdomsnævn (youth board, 1970–1990) and Voksenundervisningsnævn (adult education board, 1970–1990). Records of the predecessor authorities’ councils also survive, including Sakskøbing Købstadskommune, Byråd (1869–1970) and Sakskøbing Landsogns Kommune, Sogneråd (1842–1970).

Group Structure

Group structure of SAKSKØBING KOMMUNE

SAKSKØBING KOMMUNE was not part of any group. It had no parent company, no subsidiaries and no shareholdings, because it was a Danish municipality rather than a company and had no share capital through which such relationships could be held. Its relationship to the Danish state was constitutional, not proprietary: under Grundloven (lov nr. 169 af 5. juni 1953) § 82, municipal self-government is exercised under the supervision of the state and regulated by statute. Supervision of this kind is not ownership and does not make the state a parent.

The relationships below arose by operation of statute and ministerial order. None is an acquisition, a takeover or a company merger, and no consideration passed in any of them.

Relationship Entity Effective date Instrument
Historical statutory predecessors (amalgamated to form the municipality) Sakskøbing, Majbølle, Radsted, Sakskøbing landsogn, Slemminge-Fjelde, Tårs, Vigsnæs and Våbensted-Engestofte municipalities, all in the former Maribo amt 1 April 1970 BEK nr. 62 af 27. februar 1970
Historical administrative tier (a county tier of government, expressly not a parent or owner) Storstrøms Amtskommune 1 April 1970 to 31 December 2006 BEK nr. 62 af 27. februar 1970
Historical statutory successor (the municipality was amalgamated into it and ceased to exist) Guldborgsund Kommune, Region Sjælland 1 January 2007 BEK nr. 656 af 29. juni 2005, § 3 nr. 3; LOV nr. 540 af 24. juni 2005, §§ 2 and 36

The succession is documented in the ministerial fortegnelse issued under § 1 stk. 2 of the reform act. Its § 3, listing the 17 municipalities of Region Sjælland, provides at nr. 3: “Guldborgsund Kommune, der den 1. januar 2007 dannes ved sammenlægning af Nykøbing Falster, Nysted, Nørre Alslev, Sakskøbing, Stubbekøbing og Sydfalster Kommuner, og hvor der ved valget den 15. november 2005 vælges 29 medlemmer til kommunalbestyrelsen” — Guldborgsund Kommune is formed on 1 January 2007 by the amalgamation of the Nykøbing Falster, Nysted, Nørre Alslev, Sakskøbing, Stubbekøbing and Sydfalster municipalities, with 29 council members to be elected at the vote of 15 November 2005.

The legal effect of that amalgamation is set by LOV nr. 540 af 24. juni 2005 § 36: on 1 January 2007 the councils of the new municipalities succeeded to the rights and obligations acquired and assumed by the councils of the amalgamating municipalities, and the new municipalities took over their assets and liabilities. Section 2 stk. 1 required the reform to be carried out by amalgamating whole municipalities unless special circumstances applied, which is what happened here.

Recent structural changes

None since 1 January 2007. The entity ceased to exist on that date and no later relationship can arise. The abolition is the last structural event in its history.

Data availability

Historical. Every relationship that exists for this entity is closed and pre-2007, and the full set is determined by published instruments rather than by filings. Current only would be wrong because nothing is current; Not found or Not public would wrongly imply that a present-day group structure exists and was unobtainable.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does SAKSKØBING KOMMUNE do?

SAKSKØBING KOMMUNE was not a business. It was a Danish municipality (kommune) — a statutory public authority in the former Maribo amt, within Storstrøms Amtskommune — constituted with effect from 1 April 1970 by Bekendtgørelse nr. 62 af 27. februar 1970 and abolished on 1 January 2007. Rigsarkivet's archive records show it ran population registration, building control, hospital provision, youth work and adult education for the Sakskøbing district. It sold no products and had no commercial purpose.

Who owns SAKSKØBING KOMMUNE?

SAKSKØBING KOMMUNE had no shareholders and no share capital. It was created by ministerial order under the inddelingslov, not by incorporation, so there were never any shares to hold and no shareholder register ever existed. The 25% ownership threshold used for companies does not apply. Holding a CVR number does not imply shareholding: under lov om Det Centrale Virksomhedsregister § 3 nr. 6 a kommune is itself a registrable legal unit, and under § 5 stk. 3 its number is assigned by Danmarks Statistik.

Who is SAKSKØBING KOMMUNE's UBO (Ultimate Beneficial Owner)?

SAKSKØBING KOMMUNE had no beneficial owner. This is not a case of data being unavailable: a Danish municipality is a statutory public authority with no share capital, no members and no owners, so there is no natural person who could own or control it for beneficial-ownership purposes. Its position under Grundloven § 82 is self-government under the supervision of the state, and supervision is not ownership. Beneficial-ownership disclosure rules are directed at privately owned legal entities and do not reach an entity of this kind.

What is SAKSKØBING KOMMUNE's company registration number?

SAKSKØBING KOMMUNE's registration number is 61168419, filed with Danish Business Authority — CVR (Central Business Register) in Denmark. Its current status on the register is inactive.

Is SAKSKØBING KOMMUNE still an active company?

SAKSKØBING KOMMUNE's status on Danish Business Authority — CVR (Central Business Register) is listed as inactive, not currently active.

When was SAKSKØBING KOMMUNE incorporated?

SAKSKØBING KOMMUNE was incorporated on 1 April 1964, according to Danish Business Authority — CVR (Central Business Register).

What is SAKSKØBING KOMMUNE's registered address?

The registered address on file for SAKSKØBING KOMMUNE is Sakskøbing, Denmark.

What is SAKSKØBING KOMMUNE's revenue?

No revenue figure is published here, and a municipality has no turnover in the commercial sense. Danish municipalities account through an annual årsregnskab presented by the finance committee to the municipal council under lov om kommunernes styrelse § 45, funded chiefly by taxation and state grants rather than by sales. No årsregnskab for SAKSKØBING KOMMUNE was obtained during this research, and the authority's accounts closed with its abolition on 1 January 2007.

Is SAKSKØBING KOMMUNE listed on a stock exchange?

No. SAKSKØBING KOMMUNE was never listed on any stock exchange and had no securities of any kind. A Danish municipality has no share capital and cannot issue shares, so a listing was never legally possible.

Who are the officers/directors of SAKSKØBING KOMMUNE?

SAKSKØBING KOMMUNE had no directors. As a Danish municipality it was governed by a kommunalbestyrelse (municipal council) of elected representatives, whose chair held the statutory title borgmester (mayor) under lov om kommunernes styrelse § 3 stk. 3; many such councils are styled byråd (town council). Elected councillors are not company directors. No individual is named here, and no person has been a current officer since the authority was abolished on 1 January 2007 — its council's term having been extended to 31 December 2006, with no election held on 15 November 2005.

Does SAKSKØBING KOMMUNE have a parent company or subsidiaries?

None. SAKSKØBING KOMMUNE had no parent company, no subsidiaries and no group. Its only structural relationships are historical and statutory: it was formed on 1 April 1970 from eight predecessor municipalities in the former Maribo amt, sat within Storstrøms Amtskommune as a tier of government rather than an owner, and was amalgamated into Guldborgsund Kommune in Region Sjælland on 1 January 2007 under BEK nr. 656 af 29. juni 2005 § 3 nr. 3, with rights, obligations, assets and liabilities passing by LOV nr. 540 af 24. juni 2005 § 36. That was a statutory reorganisation of government, not an acquisition or a company merger. Its relationship to the Danish state is constitutional, under Grundloven § 82.

Can Zavia monitor changes to SAKSKØBING KOMMUNE's ownership over time?

Zavia's monitoring API can track changes to SAKSKØBING KOMMUNE's registered shareholders, officers, and group structure going forward, flagging updates as they're filed rather than requiring a manual recheck.
